New Years: a time for change is how I see it. A time for people to want to drastically change their life if they’re not happy with it, improve the life they are happy with or just keep on going as they are. Everyone’s resolutions are different, everyone’s goals and aims are all diverse. 2017 may have only been a warm up for some who are determined to reach their goals. Hopefully, 2018 is everyone’s year to shine with promises of prosperity. Here are 10 must have New Year’s resolutions and lifestyle changes you need to add to your list come the New Year of 2018.

#1 New Years Resolution

Get more involved in what your passionate about

Everyone is either really good at or passionate about something. In 2018, I dare you to grow your passion into something bigger and get more involved with it. Whether it’s singing, writing, comedy, etc. Broaden your horizons! And if you find your not really passionate about anything, then hey, go out there and find what you’re talented at. This can also be an easy resolution to actually stick to because you’re doing something you love!

#2 New Years Resolution

Get in shape, work out and eat healthier

If you are one of those people who are already in shape, and your physique is great, then good for you! Keep it up! But if you feel like you are lacking in the fitness area and your not satisfied with your health, then get your ass to the gym in 2018! There are many benefits to working out, it can be a stress reliever or can help improve your mental health. Which brings me to my next list of must have resolutions.


#3 New Years Resolution

Work on your mental health

In 2017, a staggering statistic shows that 1 in 4 people suffer from mental illness around the world. In the New Year of 2018, I wish to see that number decline. Use this fresh start to improve your mental health, talk to a friend, or go see someone if you feel like you need help. It’s time for a change, not just physically, but mentally too.

#4 New Years Resolution

Improve academically

If you’re a college student, or still in school, strive to do better. If you’re already an outstanding 4.0/ A Level student then just keep it up and stay focused. As a college student myself, personally, I know one of my aims is to reach a higher grade and perform better. So, if you are a student, that can be another resolution to add to your list come the New Year!

#5 New Years Resolution

Become an entrepreneur

Being an entrepreneur has become more and more popular this year. If you wish to start out 2018 with entrepreneurial goals, then you can start out by starting a blog or making YouTube videos (btw I have my own channel), learning how to dropship, modelling. The great thing about entrepreneurship is that you are your own boss.

Take care of yourself

Self care has never been more important and with the busy lives of many people, it is so easy to forget to take care of yourself. This New Year, I dare you to take off a whole day and dedicate it to taking care of yourself, pampering yourself and indulging in some ‘me time’.

Cut out the toxicity in your life

Whether it’s a friendship, relationship or addiction, just cut it out as soon as the clock hits 00:00. Things like smoking, excessive drinking, abusive relationships, bad friends, stressful situations and so on – just get rid of it. You don’t want to be entering the New Year with the same baggage that was badly affecting your life, do you? New Years resolutions give you a chance for a fresh start. Only invite positivity in your life this 2018.

#8 New Years Resolution

Become more productive

If you find that in 2017, you didn’t accomplish much or you were a bit lazy, then change that in the New Year! Productivity is key to achieving your goals and being organized in life, so less days spent in bed and opportunities will come your way!

Learn something new

Whether it’s cooking, skating or whatever, take some classes and join some clubs. Learn something new during your fresh start. Learn a new language, master a craft, take writing classes. Anything is possible and you never know where your knowledge of a new subject might take you!

#10 New Years Resolution

Give back to more to the needy

With homeless and poverty rates rising, it would not give you more than an hour each week to volunteer to some type of charity or organisation that helps people in need. It will make you feel way better knowing you are actually actively doing something in your community. You may even meet some new people!

  1. I absolutely adored ALL of these! Some of them are already on my New Years Resolution List but giving back is definitely something I need to add because I’m so fortunate and it actually comes to mind often but I haven’t done anything about it. Great post!

  3. I love all these resolutions!! I definitely find all of them equally important but what spoke most to me was being more productive. I can procrastinate A LOT! So that’s definitely something I need to work on. That’s an inspiring post you wrote! 😊
